LC Sub/EB2 with PD June 2001 filed on July 27 with RD of Sept 8 got approved y'day. 140 filed on July 5th was approved on jan. no RFE, all were smooth.
I was afraid because of my last years on L1B and filed H1b though this year quota and not sure if i'm lucky to have a number lottery. This gave me major relaxation.
Best of luck you all.

i don't believe there can be any guarantee against getting RFE or NOID. You can take precautions by following the regulations and yes having a job/job title in the same or similar occupations.
There is a lot of guidance about what constitutes "same or similar"... from USCIS
There are labor codes for every position/occupation in the Dept. of Labor...make sure yours falls within the same as directed by the USCIS guidance.

I dont think so since someone is doing premium processing, the chances of getting RFE are more. Rather i read in other posts that we should go for Premium processing as it is faster and we come to know the result of the case quickly rather that awaiting for weeks/months.

I have been listening to the Senate proceedings for last few days & I'm very unhappy to say that so far there has been no mention of legal immigrants.None of our issues have been discussed or debated.I was thinking after doing so much of hard work ( especially by the VI team ) & all the contributions,lobbying, we would get some changes done but looks like ..

Guyz just chill!!! How doz it even matter...Nothingz in our hands now...V have done our bit and let us let them do their bit. One shud appreciate the USCIS' efforts to bring about a temporary solution to the long wait. Atleast things r happening.
Guyz, this Friday (i.e today) therez a new awesome Hindi movie which got released and itz called Chak De India. Watch it ... as its inspirational. Cheers...CHAK DE INDIA...CHAK DE IV !!!

I have a question regarding employment and I-485 approval. For travel, one can take the I-797 approval notice and get their passport stamped if the physical green card has not arrived yet.
How about employment? Can the approved I-797 for green card be used for filling in I-9 for employment? One can think of various situations where this might be useful. Say you have renewed your EAD/H1B that is expiring, do you file the new I-9 with new EAD/H1B or show the I-797.

If your future wife is not in the US now, she will apply directly at the consulate for her L-2 visa. There is no need for you or her to get prior approval from CIS, like you do for the L-1. Your question is unclear, so I don't know if this answers it.

My H1-B is valid from September 14 2006 to September 14 2007.I got laid off recently; my LC is pending Dallas Backlog center last 3 years, I got new job and submitted my last pay stub December 15 2006 to my new Lawyer with my ex lawyer contact address. I do not know whether there will be any hassle in USCIS for my H1-B 8th year extension approval? My new lawyer is yet to file my premium H1B extension. I am very anxious regarding the uncertainty of extension.

Hello everyone,
My driver's license has come up for renewal in Feb 2009. I have 2 yrs EAD.I have send my H1 for renewal but it has not got yet approved..
My employer suggessted that I use my EAD card to get my license renewed. In Ideal case I would like to use my approved H1 to renew my license. However since its taking time for my H1 renewal can I use my EAD card to get my license renewed.

I had contacted all the senators and house reps in New Mexico via their website and heard back from Senator Jeff Bingaman.
Please see his reply:

Did anyone (or spouse) applied for Social Security No. who were using ITIN before, for tax purposes. I have applied for 485 and EAD and plan to apply for my wife's Social Security once I get the EAD. Are there any tax filing implications? How to switch to this new number and still be able to e-file next year (assuming I get EAD this year)?

I need to know if it is safe to travel to India on AP and EAD documents without having a valid H4 visa. My H4 visa had been renewed once and now after 3 years it has expired on Dec 12 2010. I need to go to India to see my father who is very ill. I want to know if re-entry into the US will be a problem on my AP and EAD. Also, will it effect the entry of my daughter (if she travels with me) who is 2.5 years old and is US citizen.

if there was something IV core would have informed us and suggested action items..
as of now concentrate on 2 action items
- Sending Thankyou cards
- Upload IV video on utube
Thanks for saying that jonty_11. It seems most members do not want to do the things requested to us by the IV core team. We just want them to provide us "service" by working to answer our personal questions which we should be asking paid lawyers, we just want to logon to the website to get the latest news and think the IV core team is simply idiot to request us to send out Thank You cards and put YouTube videos. There is no scarcity or ranting on the forums about personal situations, patriotism, logic, economic arguments, and our our personal belief system whenever we find someone in conflict with us. However, most people do not want to function as a community and want others to prepare a list of amendments for them so that they do not have to do their homework, so that they could get their green cards sooner.
Guys, please do not post messages for the sake of posting messages. Each post takes away many man hours when thousands of people are reading the post. This is time spent away from important activity. Most members are simply posting new threads over and over again, asking the same question. I am not able to understand why do people not want to search for an answer to their question in the earlier posts. Why do we have to spend time in reading and answering same set of questions over and over again?
And why do we ask others to put a list of all the amendments? If we want answer to this question, why can't one spend time and prepare a list and post that list sharing the information with others? No offense meant, I am simply trying to understand.
