Apple did not sue. They made a request to Toyota, and Toyota valuing income and a business partnership, made the decision to stop what they were doing. No lawsuit involved.
Go ahead and jail break you device, it doesn't really matter if you do. But the problem is not about the end user here, which as the right to jailbreak, the issue is with business entities engaging in facilitating a jailbreak such as what Toyota did.

Looks like a specs upgrade to me. I�ll most likely skip this and buy the next revision. :)
If this rumor is true and there is only going to be a spec bump, then I think a lot of people will feel this way and Apple knows this! Therefore, I think they will put some "gotta have" feature in iOS5 that will only be compatible with the new iPhone 5. Something like.......(your guess here).

This will definitely be the first iteration of the iPhone that I will pass on. It's certainly not much of an upgrade from the iPhone 4.

Why is everyone getting so bent out of shape so early? First off, this is hear say and not officially stated by Apple yet. If that time comes, I'm sure there will be the option of a physical disk, or some way to make a bootable install disk using disk utility. I mean this thing is already 9 pages long of people flipping out that OMG!!! ITS A DOWNLOAD!!! Guess what? Microsoft offers windows as a download, and guess what? You can burn it to a physical disk.. I can't believe so many people are already jumping the gun on a RUMOR. It's a RUMOR until Apple officially announces it...
Perhaps its people realizing that the marriage of iOS & OS X signals a degree of uncertainty, mistrust, or just plain doubt based on an unpredictable Apple. Or not.
Maybe its those in the crowd who have the technical comprehension, to cause them to question Apple's true intentions.
Then again it could be that many are sensing a new less interesting era of appliance like simplicity.
"Look ma, even grandma Evelyn can use this".

Microsoft isnt switching over to just ARM. They're just making Windows compatible on ARM. For their Windows 8 Tablets most likely.

I just don't wanna see the Mac Pro...key word here is "Pro"...iOS-ified.
This isn't a consumer level device, it's not for buying it to show off the latest Apple toy.
It is a workhorse, it is a behemoth, it is the king of kings when it comes to Mac desktops. Size-as long as it has power, i could care less how big it is/gets within reason. I want power, expansion capabilities, no SSD...especially no SSD...
I don't mind solid state stuff in the iOS devices...I've even come around lately to liking solid state stuff to a certain degree more than in past months...but I don't want it exclusively in the Pro. If prices come down...which they will over time...cool. I'd put two HDDs in and two SSDs in.
Optical drives...I want them in the unit. But if they can make it write or read CDs just as fast outside of it...(I admit not being educated on the differences performance-wise between an internal and external optical drive) I'd be fine getting it separate.
I'm very excited, in any case to see what's going to come of the (supposed) update...if nothing else to ogle some shiny new piece of hardware.

I disagree with you on this. I agree with you on the MBP. Apple just revved the specs of their displays and they also released the education iMac. I think the iMac is a homerun for Apple on the desktop. Obviously the strongest Apple product right now is the MacBook. But while I think you're right on with the MBP, I think they will find a way to update the iMac for new, faster processors while retaining the current design/enclosure. Even if it has Merom inside. After all they could rev it to Merom 2.1 and 2.3 and some nice new features and I don't think many people will complain. (Alright some will complain, they always do, but that's beside the point).
I would bet Conroe is the single processor option for Mac Pros to fill out the mid-range desktop line. The Mac Pro starts at $2,499 and that's way too expensive. I'm thinking there's going to be something to fill the gap between $1,499 and $2,499. That's where Conroe comes in.I hope you're right. My scenario is excluding the idea Apple will fill in that sub $2k tower hole they seem to be neglecting a LOT. :eek: Would make a lot of sense for them to simply extend the Mac Pro enclosure down into that space with Conroes. Mac Pro expandability is really fantastic. A Conroe motherboard in that same case would be the ticket. Or a cheaper enclosure with the same expadability capacity would work. My point was not that I don't want to see stories about Android devices on a Apple-centric site, or hear valid arguments for both sides, because then I truly would be closed-minded as some may believe.
I love discussing the pros and cons of different technological devices with others who's opinions may differ from my own. However, is it too much to ask that rabid, Android proselytizers, refrain from flooding a forum with baseless, biased, bs in order to "put us in our place" or preach the gospel of Andriod?
The same goes for Apple fanatics trolling on Android sites. If you can't put aside your ridiculous prejudices when discussing things, you ain't helpin' the cause, if you know what I mean...on either side.

You can already make a bootable USB thumb drive/DVD/external HD partition with Lion. You just have to use "Show Package Contents" to access the .dmg. Hopefully Apple will make a more user-friendly way of making a hard backup, perhaps through the installer itself.

I'm not impressed if this is where the iMac display is potentially going , the current GPUs can barely drive the resolutions they have now in anything other than simple desktop apps . , can you imagine what video card you would need to drive a game (say portal 2 which has low to modest requirements) at 30fps + on a screen with 3200 or higher resloution ? Well whatever that GPU is , apple will ship with the one released 2 years ago and half the RAM it shipped with on the PC .
I love the mac OS , I love the mac design , I hate the "last years tech with a shiney shell" we seem to have to put up with , super high res screens and faster I/O ports are all well and good , but put a decent GPU in now the mac is becoming a contender as a home gaming platform .

At 2560x1440...it should have something equivalent to an HD 6950/GTX 570. Given that those cards would blow past any thermal limits Apple has set...iMac owners are in a bit of a graphical quandary. It's an utterly gorgeous machine, superb display, great CPU, decent RAM, sufficient HDD options. But those graphics? :eek: SP cores and clock rates aside...it should have 2GB of VRAM(frame buffer) at that res.
